Raising the status of the teaching profession – a communications toolkit
Overview
We want to showcase and celebrate the expertise, passion and dedication of Victorian educators. Our ‘communications toolkit’ provides resources for individuals and organisations to share on social media or newsletter channels.
These digital assets and accompanying copy/text aim to elevate the status of the teaching profession by showcasing the passion and continuous professional development of Victorian educators. This toolkit aims to recognise the hard work and commitment of teachers and school leaders and can be shared across your social media and communications channels for parents and carers, as well as educators themselves.

Key messages
Our communications toolkit aims to raise the status of teachers and the teaching profession in the minds of the general public, and draw attention to the expertise of Victorian teachers. Key messages include:
- teachers make an incredibly valuable contribution to our children and young people’s future, and the communities
- Victoria is home to thousands of fabulous, passionate, dedicated and inspirational teachers
- Victorian teachers are highly qualified and skilled in their profession, with a commitment to constant improvement and lifelong learning
- teachers in Victoria are supported to grow and develop their skills, to make our great teachers even better.

Here at the Academy, we love a good news story. Our story template has been created to encourage educators and members of the community to share stories for us to promote. This template can also be used by colleagues, parents and community members to nominate and share the impact and passion of an inspiring educator. Social media is a popular and powerful online tool for communication. It is a great way to build relationships, engage with a community quickly and bring visibility to a particular cause or topic. You can download and use digital assets from the ‘communications toolkit’ on your own social media platforms to start conversations and create engagement.
