Through the Teaching Innovation Fellowship, Gus Humphries is designing and implementing a Questions 4 Teachers (Q4T) project to support teachers in inquiring and developing their practice collaboratively. 

Can you summarise your teaching innovation project?   

The intention of my Questions 4 Teachers (Q4T) project is to create non-judgemental partnerships that allow teachers at my school to be supported in investigating and developing an area of practice that they are passionate about. Q4T provides classroom teachers with time, space and support to try new techniques to enhance the impact of their teaching on student learning. 

What impact do you hope to make?   

The Q4T project is designed to provide support and affirmation for classroom teachers in a profession of increasing complexity and challenge. If the program is successful teachers will feel comfortable asking questions about their practice without being judged. The will access evidence-informed techniques related to their chosen area of practice and feel their engagement in professional learning has been impactful, valuable and time-efficient.  

Can you describe the value of taking part in a fellowship?   

Face-to-face learning days at the Academy exposed me to ideas that strengthened my project and also made me aware of and plan for possible pitfalls.
