    These series are suitable to all Victorian school staff, including education leaders, wellbeing staff and teachers who wish to develop their understanding in topics related to student engagement and whole school improvement.


    Teacher Burnout

    Presenter: Dr Helen Kelly

    • to recognise why employee wellbeing in schools is important
    • to understand the Burnout Continuum as a framework for considering employee wellbeing
    • to identify the signs, symptoms and causes of burnout
    • to know what schools can do to maximise employee wellbeing and prevent burnout.

    Dr Helen Kelly

    Helen Kelly is committed to helping schools maximise wellbeing and improve school culture. She led international schools in Asia and Europe, until she retired from her work as a principal in 2020. She has been conducting research in the field of educator wellbeing for almost a decade.

     


    Future of Education, Student Agency, Creativity, and Artificial Intelligence (AI)

    Presenter: Ronald A. Beghetto, PhD

    • learn strategies to foster a mindset of 'What could be' in teachers and students, encouraging them to envision and work toward positive futures

    About the presenter:

    Ronald A. Beghetto, Creativity Researcher

    Dr. Beghetto is an internationally recognised expert on human creativity and the possible in educational settings. Dr. Beghetto has received recognition and numerous awards for excellence in teaching and earned his Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from Indiana University (with an emphasis in Learning, Cognition and Instruction).

     


    Leading Schools During Times of Disruption

    Presenter: Bruce Armstrong

    Bruce Armstrong | Chapter Three

    Bruce is an extraordinarily experienced and inspiring Victorian Leader, who dedicated over 33 years to roles across all levels of the Victorian public education system; initially delivering education as a teacher to driving school improvement in leadership roles such as: Principal of Balwyn High School, Executive Director roles in different areas of the Department of Education (DE), Director of the former Bastow Institute, and finally, as the Deputy Secretary of the Regional Services Group (DE).


    Structure of program

    • Online – on the days and times above mentioned.
    • From 4.00 to 5:30 pm (1h 30 mins)
    • Pre-reading and post-reading (when applicable)
    • Presentation with opportunities for the subject matter experts to interact with the audience through breakout rooms, padlets, etc.
